To begin, hello!
Welcome to my blog. This is a first for me, as for many others, and I hope you like and maybe get some enjoyment and/or knowledge from my learning curve.
Secondly, an explanation. I named my blog/online presence the E spectrum for a couple of different reasons. My name is Ellie, hence the E, and inspiration for the use of the word spectrum came about from several diverse places. The word spectrum has a few different meanings. The first being a band of colours, as seen in a rainbow, produced by separation of the components of light by their different degrees of refraction according to wave length. Sometimes this is something I see differently as I have a genetic eye condition which affects my eyes’ ability to see in bright light, whether natural or artificial, and to process colours.
Next, the word spectrum can be used to classify something in terms of its position on a scale between two – sometimes extreme – points. I work with individuals on the Autistic Spectrum, a job which I love, and some of whom have bowel health complications. I have had my own health problems, on-going stomach and bowel investigations, described to me as being a yo-yo on a broader spectrum.
Lastly, and maybe most importantly, in its simplest form spectrum means a wide range and that is what you can expect from this blog. I will be posting about a variety of subjects, from eye health and stomach/bowel advice to my first(ish) forays into the world of beauty and fashion. My interests are wide and varied so you can expect a little of everything I have mentioned plus others as I learn more. Photography is a new passion and an exciting one as I see the world a little differently. I am also lucky enough to have travelled to some pretty amazing places and continue to be encouraged to explore even more so shall share my travels with you.
So, enough waffling, introduction done, I hope you enjoy and we all get to learn some more as I go along.
Ellie, from The E Spectrum.
